I've owned the same unit for approximately 5 years. My employees use it 5 days a week. It's the only backpack vacuum i've used that hasn't need yearly harness and motor replacement.

Sanitaire Backpack SC412B

I like the backpack part and it is well built..the problem comes in with the wand setup...it can only be used on a flat, unobstructed surface. You cannot attach attachments to the upper half of the wand so vacuuming in close quarters or steps is impossible. I would not have bought this vacuum had I known how unusable it actually is
