PROFESSIONAL Upright with Tools SL4110A

Been using Sanitaire's almost exclusively in my commercial cleaning business for over 40 years. Though this vacuum's construction is not a robust as some of the other units I have used (little to no metal, shorter cord and a lighter weight of plastic) it is perfect for the smaller accounts I have. I needed a low cost unit that I could leave at the jobs that had, #1 a bag! I want to throw out the dirt. and #2 had some tools on board so I could give attention to corners. This unit works well, and with some care it should last years on these smaller cleaning accounts (1,000 to 1,500 sq ft and only used once or a few times per week). For 5-7 day per week use, I use the SC899H or similar. But this one, at a price 1/3 of that of the SC899H is great to leave at these smaller accounts.

no complaints on the vacuum power. the hose is a little short and tough to reach some areas, but I'm writing that off to it being a new vacuum and over time will get flexible.

I believed I was purchasing a product made in the USA, but the vacuum is made in China. That explains the 1-year warranty, instead of a 5-year warranty. I had to attach the handle with screws. I made the mistake of initially screwing in 3 screws, which were attached to the handle and there were holes for 3 screws. However, I should have read the instructions and only initially screwed in one screw keeping the other two screws for another place. I could not get the other two screws out, leaving me to search for two additional screws to finish assembling the vacuum. In the end, I didn't find an exact match to the screws and now they stick out, but they work. At least the vacuum didn't break on the first use, as I experienced with the previous vacuum from another manufacturer I purchased. I've only used the Sanitare one time, and it seems to work fine.

I have been using Sanitaire vacs for nearly 20 years, this is the WORST vac ever. If you like to use attachments, forget about this vac as it does not shut off the roller and it will "eat" everything" the vac is sitting on. In addition where you disconnect the hose so that it can be used for attachments the port will blow out dust into the air as evidenced by the dirt all over the vac. Also when using the hose the machine falls over constantly, very dangerous. The height adjustment setting is useless, it is either too high or too low. I really tried to like it when I first got it, but it was just awful, frankly would give it no stars. SANITAIRE BRING BACK the SC785 as this vac is a HUGE failure!
